In 2012, the co-founder of Helicon West (heliconwest.wordpress.com) walked into the Logan Library seeking shelter for her beloved community reading series, which regularly featured published authors alongside writers of every skill level in an uncensored and supportive environment. What she found was fertile ground, based on mutual values of community, diversity, and the power of the written word, ready for a transplant. Despite significant challenges, Helicon West has now grown and blossomed with the library for over a decade.
